Itinerary
Day 1: Drive about 130 kilometers and 4 hours from Cochin to Munnar.
When you arrive in Cochin, you'll meet your driver and start your magnificent ride to Munnar, a charming hill resort noted for its tea bushes and fresh winds. While you're on the road, stop by the beautiful Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls and a spice farm to learn about the fragrant joys of Kerala. When you get to Munnar, check into your hotel and spend the evening relaxing by either exploring the area or just enjoying the cool mountain air. Overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 2: Munnar sightseeing
After a full breakfast, be set to enjoy the best of Munnar. Visit Eravikulam National Park, where the endangered Nilgiri Tahr resides. Make sure to check if it's open first. Then, head to Mattupetty Dam for a boat ride on the calm waters. Don't forget to go to Echo Point, where you can hear nature's echoes. At Photo Point and Kundala Lake, you may take some great shots. Then, complete your day at the Tea Museum, where you can learn about Munnar's long history with tea. Stay overnight in Munnar.
Day 3: You can either stay in Munnar for free or go on a trip.
Take a rest and enjoy the whole day in Munnar any way you choose. You may relax at your hotel or do things like go for a walk in nature, get an Ayurvedic massage, or view the Attukad Waterfalls. If you want to learn more, you may take a tour of a hamlet or visit a local plantation. Stay overnight in Munnar.
Day 4: Thekkady to Munnar (90 km, or about 3 hours)
After breakfast, check out and head to Thekkady, which is in the midst of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. When you arrive there, check into your hotel. If there are boats available later, you can take a boat ride on Periyar Lake, where you might see elephants, deer, and a lot of different sorts of birds. You can go around the local spice market in the evening or attend a traditional Kathakali dance or Kalaripayattu (martial arts) exhibition.Stay in Thekkady
Day 5: Thekkady to Alleppey, which is 140 miles and takes about 4 hours.
After breakfast, it's time to go to Alleppey. People know about the backwaters and the houseboat cruises there. When you reach there, hop on your own magnificent houseboat, which has everything you need to be comfortable. Enjoy wonderful Kerala food and the serene surroundings as you glide along calm canals lined with coconut palms and beautiful plants. Spend the night on the houseboat.
Day 6: Going from Alleppey to Cochin
Wake up to the calm sounds of the sea and have a traditional breakfast on the houseboat. When you check out, go back to Cochin. You can take a short trip to Fort Kochi, see the Chinese Fishing Nets, or do some last-minute shopping if you have time. You will be taken to the airport in Cochin, the train station, or your hotel, where you will remember Kerala's hills, wildlife, and canals. You'll have memories of Kerala that will last a lifetime after the vacation.
